We are a family soaperie operating from a beautiful rural farm setting in Cheshire where we have farmed for over 100 years.
We make natural luxury soaps with beer because a/ we love the blend of real science, chemistry, art and imagination that soap making truly is and b/ one of our many perks – we can taste as many different kinds of beer as we like – it being one of the main ingredients going into our soap. The other main ingredient is Extra virgin olive oil. We only use the highest quality raw materials (natural oils and butters), the full list of our ingredients you can find here.
All our products are made from scratch and entirely by hand in our soaperie. We use old-fashioned methods and it is the reason why our soap bars take several weeks to mature or to use the soaping term “cure”.
Our products are not tested on animals and do not contain any animal fats. They are free from SLS, SLES, artificial preservatives and harmful chemicals.
To learn to make the best soap, we went to train with leading experts in the field: Melinda Coss (famous author and soap making pioneer in Britain), Sally Hornsey (founder of Plush Folly and perfumery wizard) and Sarah Janes (owner of excellent Soap School and an inspiring teacher) to all of whom we are very grateful for sharing their knowledge.
We make many different beer soaps and our range expands continuously. Being in the hub of micro brewing industry here in England means we can access the most interesting, most weird and most wonderful ales, ciders and lagers all of which we simply can’t wait to turn into great soap.
We believe the natural goodness of beer is fully transferred into our soap and we love using our own products in bath and in shower. We hope that you will enjoy using them too. If there is any specific beer you wish to be turned into a particular soap, please do let us know and we will be happy to oblige!
